Hotel Facilities

Hotel Rialto has disabled access. The hotel provides a currency exchange service and there is a safe available for use at the reception.  Dogs are also allowed in the hotel.   There is a restaurant, the Miro, that serves food straight from the famous Boqueria market, and is rather rustic in style.  There is also a snack-bar and a breakfast room.  There is a comfortable lounge, full of squashy brown leather sofa in the lobby area, this is a prefect place to relax, read the paper and watch the world go by.

Hotel Rialto does have a meeting room available for functions.  Its maximum capacity is 15 people.

Rooms

The hotel has 197 rooms which are all decorated in a rustic manner.  The Miro suite is decorated with its namesake in mind and has touches of fluid modern design.  The rooms all have a fully-equipped en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and heating, a TV, a direct phone line and a minibar.  Calle Ferran is quite noisy at all times of day and night but the rooms are soundproofed to protect you from the worst of it.  Nevertheless if you are affected by noise then ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

Hotel Location and Facilities

Calle Ferran is a wide and busy street full of shops, cafes and restaurants.  To the left of the hotel there is the attractive Placa Sant Jaume which is home to the Town Hall and the Government Palace, both impressive buildings.  If you carry on through the square and keep going you can go to trendy el Borne area which is a great place for drinks in the evening.  The Gothic Cathedral is a 5 minute walk away, as is some great shopping on Calle Avinyo, just off Ferran ( a cashpoint is just next to the hotel).  Placa Reial is also just off Calle Ferran and is packed day and night with people and people-watchers sitting in the cafes and restaurants.  Also if you want a taste of home, or indeed beer, then there are 4 Irish pubs for you to choose from all at the Ramblas end of the road. In case of any emergencies there is also a pharmacy just opposite the hotel.  Also 2 blocks up from the hotel is a bakery.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. From Passeig de Gracia you need to catch the Yellow line metro to Jaume 1. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the metro station.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 3.90 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to take the green line metro to Passeig de Gracia and then change for the Yellow Line to Jaume 1. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the metro station.
